American Society of Health Care Engineering (ASHE)
Baltimore, Maryland
July 14 – 17, 2019

American Society of Health Care Engineering (ASHE) Conference Baltimore, Maryland July 14 – 17, 2019 Catherine Newkold and Bob deVeyra attended the conference, a gathering of health care facility management and engineering professionals whose goal is to optimize the health care-built environment.

Over the course of three days, Catherine and Bob attended many technical sessions spanning various subjects from life safety code requirements, new microgrid technologies for power and emergency power, cybersecurity,  analytics, improving operating room conditions, project case studies, and other presentations tied to this year’s “Mapping the Course” theme. ASHE also introduced their Energy to Care program which is an electrical energy benchmarking and awards platform. It integrates EPA’s EnergyStar Portfolio Manager tool and provides the ability to better visualize and share energy data and performance metrics across the healthcare industry.

In addition to the technical sessions, Catherine and Bob toured the exhibit hall to learn about new innovative products and services. They also participated in networking events where they reconnected with old friends while making some new ones. Catherine and Bob enjoyed the company of many like-minded professionals who are striving to improve the healthcare industry just as they are.
