Ms. Ellis is Founder and President of QSE™. She is responsible for project delivery, professional staff development, and client relationships.

She is a nationally recognized leader in the commissioning industry. She has helped define mainstream commissioning services and is a much sought-after speaker, author, and trainer. Ms. Ellis wrote a monthly column about commissioning for Engineered Systems magazine for more than 20 years and was named one of the 2019 “20 to Watch: Women in HVAC” by Engineered Systems magazine.
Ms. Ellis has more than 40 years of experience engineering and managing a variety of HVAC system projects. Ms. Ellis is a specialist in the design, analysis, and commissioning of intricate temperature and humidity control systems. She has also been active in performing energy conservation studies and providing resultant implementation project support.
She is a licensed professional engineer in 16 states and maintains certifications from:
- United States Green Building Council (LEED AP BD+C)
- Building Commissioning Association (CCP)
- American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (BCxP)

Craig Ellis
Mr. Ellis is Founder and Chief Operating Officer of QSE™. He is responsible for QSE™’s technology systems, information security, business administration, and human resources.

Matt Malinosky, PE
Mr. Malinosky is responsible for developing mechanical commissioning engineers and overseeing new construction and existing building commissioning projects at QSE™.

He has more than 20 years of experience in executing and managing commissioning and retro-commissioning projects. His specialties include building systems data trending and analysis, systems functional performance testing and test procedure development, and operations and maintenance training planning.

Catherine Newkold, PE
Ms. Newkold leads QSE™’s electrical systems commissioning team which focuses on electrical power, lighting controls, life safety systems, communications and security systems, etc.

She has more than 40 years of engineering and project management experience. Ms. Newkold is an experienced commissioning professional, having provided project management, design review, functional test procedure development, and field testing for a variety of systems commissioning assignments. Ms. Newkold has experience with commissioning of electrical systems, including incoming medium and low voltage power, emergency power, mission critical power, and material handling systems. She also has experience with low power systems and building-wide “Loss of Power Response” testing.

Molly Meyer, PE
Ms. Meyer is QSE™’s healthcare commissioning specialist, responsible for developing healthcare commissioning engineers and overseeing new construction and renovations of hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic facilities.
BS Mechanical Engineering: Marquette University
She has been assisting owners in both the technical details of building systems operations and commissioning process fundamentals for more than 25 years. She works with design teams, construction teams, and facility operators to document and test integrated building systems controls. Ms. Meyer works with both existing buildings and new construction to document system operation and train facility operators to maintain efficient and effective systems performance over the life of the systems.

Miles Ryan, PE
Mr. Ryan is a leader in QSE™’s mechanical systems commissioning, retro-commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization services.

He has been working in the operation of facility mechanical and plumbing systems for over 15 years. Mr. Ryan's areas of expertise include HVAC, plumbing, building automation, energy conservation and owner training. He works in new and existing buildings, from high-rise residential to hospitals, to ensure their mechanical systems operate effectively, efficiently, and intuitively for building operators.
Mr. Ryan is heavily involved in educating the industry. As a major in the Air Force Reserves, he serves at the Air Force Institue of Technology where he teaches continuing education courses in HVAC design, HVAC control systems, and plumbing. Since 2023, he has written a monthly column for Engineered Systems Magazine on the topic of commissioning. He also speaks regularly at industry events and has been involved in the development of many online resources to train others in the operation of facility mechanical systems.
